The education ministries of South Africa and China are forging ahead with the implementation of a collaboration agreement, which includes equipment provision, and the teaching Mandarin in some South African schools, Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga's office said on Sunday. Established in 1958 originally as Changchun College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the school is one of the earliest TCM colleges in China. In 2006, it was renamed as Changchun University of Chinese Medicine.
